Survey 1 : Gold Coast

Other stations lost 7.9 with Hot Tomato gaining 5.8, Triple M gaining 2.5 and Brisbane stations gaining 1.8. Nova 106.9 leads Brisbane stations with 3.2 whilst 4BH tripled its listeners.

Cairns

Triple M gained more than Hit 103.5 to claim #2 whilst ABC Far North lost less than Triple J to claim #4. Star 102.7 and Hit 103.5 share under 25 listeners with Star 102.7 also replacing ABC Far North as #1 in 65+.

Survey 3 : Gold Coast

Triple J was the only station to gain listeners. They have moved from the 18-24 age group to 25-39. In 18-24 they switched to Sea FM whilst Hot Tomato and Triple M sharing 10-17.

Townsville

Hit 103.1 has become #1 by gaining 3.7 whilst Triple M fell by 2.9. It was achieved with increased listeners thoughout the day.

Sunshine Coast

Mix FM has become #1 with Hot FM losing listeners in all age groups including 10.2 in 10-17 and 20.4 in 18-24.
Mix FM has also claimed #1 in breakfast and apart from morning retaining their listeners thoughout the day.

Survey 2 : Gold Coast

The Gold Coast radio audience is fragmented with Brisbane stations included in the survey. Nearly a third of listening is with other stations. It is the 40 years & older exploring alternative radio options.

Star 101.9 increased by 5.2 and retained as #1. Year-on-Year the 10-17 age group fluctuates with Star 101.9 falling 24.7 which was shared equally between the 2 SCA stations.

Cairns

Triple M gained 1.5 but Hit 103.5 retained #2 whilst Triple J gained 1.6 to claim #4 from ABC Far North. 18-24 age group is competitive with little separating Star 102.7 and Hit 10.5 and separating Triple M and Triple J.

Non-local represent 40% of the most listened-to stations in Toowoomba/Warwick. Hit 100.7 dominate the local stations with a quarter of all listeners with 30% in drive and evening.

ARN's Hitz 93.9 is #1 in all except 65+. Triple M is only 2.1 behind in the 40-54 age group whilst 4BU and ABC Wide Bay mirror each other.

Maryborough

With only 2 commercial stations a quarter listen to other stations. Apart from Triple J with 20.5 in 18-24 age group ABC have limited listeners with other stations having the most in 65+.

With the availability of Sunshine Coast stations they receive over 40% of listening. Zinc 96.1 peaks in 55-64 age group, Triple J in 25-39 and ABC Sunshine Coast in 65+.

Rockhampton

The 2 SCA stations dominate the under 55 age groups. 55-64 is more competitive with 4CC #2 closely followed by ABC Capricornia / Wide Bay. The ABC local stations have a third of the listeners in 65+ with 4RO #2 with 15.7.

CFM renamed as Hot FM

The CFM stations in Toowoomba, Warwick and Kingaroy have been re-branded as Hot FM. This has standardized the station names. On the Today Network, Hot FM covers Queensland inland and the north coast. Sea FM covers the south coast around Brisbane with B105 in Brisbane.

Prime Media sells to Grant Broadcasters

Prime Media Group today announced the sale of the Prime radio group,consisting of four AM and six FM licences in regional Queensland to Grant Broadcasters. The sale is expected to complete on 30 August 2013.
This gives Grant Broadcasters a visible presence in Queensland.
