Survey 7 : Sydney
Gold 101.7 slide has ended and increased by 0.8. They gained listeners across all hours with drive increasing by 1.5 and morning 1.1. Biggest gain was in the 25-39 age group up 1.5 whilst they most popular in 55-64 age group with 18.1.

Survey 6 : Sydney
Year-on-Year 2Day FM has lost 0.9 and has 3.8% and below Triple J with 4.4%. Apart from 40-54 has lost listeners in all age groups.

Year-on-Year : Sydney
Kyle and Jackie O switching from 2DAY FM to KIIS 106.5 is highlighted in the year-on-year comparison. KIIS is up 4.1% and 2Day FM lost 5.3%. 2Day FM sister station, MMM lost 0.9% whilst Smooth FM gained 1.5% and Nova 96.9 gained 1.1%.

With Kyle and Jackie O switching from 2DAY FM to KIIS 106.5 has also switched the station's positions. KIIS 106.5 (up 3.4%) is now #1 FM station whilst 2DAY FM (down 4.4%) has falling below the other FM stations. Whilst WSFM gained 1.7% to leap over Nova 96.9 and Smooth 91.5 :

- 8.4% - KIIS 106.5 (Adult Contemporary/ARN)
- 8.1% - WSFM (Gold/ARN)

- 4.8% - MMM (Rock/Southern Cross Austereo)
- 4.0% - 2Day FM (Chart/Southern Cross Austereo)
2Day FM lost listeners across all hours with KIIS similarly gaining listeners :
KIIS moved from an Adult Contemporary playlist to Contemporary Hits. WSFM gained the AC listeners growing by 1.7% and regaining the #2 FM station title. Smooth FM also gained 0.6% :

Sydney Breakfast
Media strategist Fusion Strategy predicts that up to 30% of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson listeners will follow them to the relaunched Mix - KIIS 106.5. Based on the last survey figures, that could be 3 million.
2Day FM remains the #1 FM breakfast and levels the stations share.

Year-on-Year : Sydney
The biggest change in the last 12 months is JJJ increasing its listeners by 1.0% followed by Smooth FM up 0.7%. The only station to lose listeners is WSFM by 0.7%
This has squeezed the market with little separating Smooth FM, WSFM, JJJ, MMM and Mix :

Survey 8 : Sydney
Like Melbourne, Sydney is consistently led by talk radio. 2Day FM lost listeners but remains #1 FM station. Mix 106.5 lost 0.7% to fall below JJJ and MMM. After a gradual growth in listeners, Smooth 91.5 lost 1% but still retained #3 FM station :

- 10.4% - ABC 702
- 8.4% - 2Day FM (Chart/Southern Cross Austereo)
- 7.7% - Nova 96.9 (Chart/DMG)
- 6.5% - Smooth 91.5 (Easy/DMG)
- 6.4% - WSFM (Gold/ARN)
- 6.2% - JJJ
- 5.5% - MMM (Rock/Southern Cross Austereo)
- 5.0% - Mix 106.5 (Adult Contemporary/ARN)
2Day FM lost 4.4% in the 18-24 age group with JJJ gaining most, up 3.6%. Smooth lost in the 40+ with Nova 96.9 up 2.4% in the 40-54 age group :

Survey 7 : Other Listening
This week, Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and Commercial Radio Australia announce an increase in listening.
CBAA report that an average 29% of radio listeners tune into community radio each week. Whilst CRA report that 12.3% of listening is now done on digital radio.
This would be represented in the unaccounted figure in Survey 7. In Sydney and Adelaide, the 18-39 ages are exploring other options the most. Whilst it is the senior ages in the other cities. In Perth, it is 27% for 65 and older.

Year-on-Year : Sydney
The biggest change in the last 12 months is Smooth FM increasing its listeners by 2.2%. The only station to lose listeners is WSFM by 1.1%
Smooth FM has climbed to #3. Whilst WSFM is falling into the second group of Mix, JJJ and MMM.

2Day FM increased its listener numbers up to mid-afternoon. Whilst Smooth 91.5 gained listeners after noon with evenings up 2.6% :

Year-on-Year : Sydney
Over the last 12 months, the Sydney market has become squeezed. The most-popular stations, 2Day FM and WSFM have lost 1.3% and 1.2% respectively. A year ago, MMM and Smooth had low listener figures. But MMM has increased its market share by 0.8% and Smooth by 1.8%.

Like Melbourne, Sydney is consistently led by talk radio with 2Day FM remaining the most popular music station. The biggest move was Smooth 91.5 who leaped 2 places with only 2Day FM and Nova 96.9 having more listeners. Both WSFM and MMM fell 2 places :

Smooth 91.5 increased over all hours with evenings up 2.6%. WSFM and MMM drop was due to losing listeners in their most popular hours - breakfast for WSFM and daytime for MMM :

Year-on-Year : Sydney
Over the last 12 months, the Sydney market has become squeezed. The most-popular stations, 2Day FM and WSFM have lost 1.0% and 1.1% respectively. A year ago, MMM and Smooth had low listener figures. But MMM has increased its market share by 1.3% and Smooth by 0.7%.
Smooth FM
Smooth FM launched in Sydney and Melbourne early 2012. Now participated in 10 surveys, we can observe if they are gaining listeners.
Both stations have been preforming above the survey average throughout 2013 so looking good.
Mix
Mix across the country is split. In Adelaide, it is the clear leader. Along with Brisbane (97.3 FM), is seeing an increase in listeners. Sydney is maintaining its listeners if only floating around a lowly 5%. Whilst Perth and Melbourne are gradually losing their market share.
Sydney
By graphing the age groups and hours, it explains each station's audience.
- 2Day FM is a traditional station peaking at breakfast and drivetime.
- MMM has its largest audience during the workday.
- Mix increases its audience as the day progresses peaking at night.
- WSFM peaks at breakfast and its listeners drift away as the day progresses.
- Nova is similar to Mix as its audience increases as the day progresses peaking at drivetime.
- Smooth peaks in the afternoon.
Survey 5 : Sydney
Like Melbourne, Sydney is consistently led by talk radio with 2Day FM remaining the most popular music station. Mid-table the market share between the other stations is marginal. Mix 106.5 lost 0.9% free-falling 5 places to 10th with Smooth FM and JJJ moving up :

2Day FM leads the music stations by dominating the 18-24 age group. And WSFM holds 4th slot by leading 55+ age range :
