Southern Cross Media Group (SCA) has entered into an agreement with Eon Broadcasting to acquire Sunshine Coast Broadcasters, Sea FM and Mix FM.
SCA has had to sell the two commercial FM radio licences on the Queensland Sunshine Coast as a consequence of SCA holding more than the permitted number of commercial FM radio licences in the Brisbane and Nambour licence areas after its acquisition of Austereo Group Limited in 2011.
This follows on from 2008, when Macquarie Media Group bought Southern Cross Broadcasting. They had to sell the Northern Tasmania's Sea FM stations and now owned by Grant Broadcasters.
